Canning in the heat of summer
Years ago we used to have a glass topped stove. For most things, it worked just fine. But I found that it was difficult to get a pressure cooker up to pressure to can vegetables or meat. One of the ways I dealt with this is I used our camping stoves. I could do this either indoors or outdoors. I had a kitchenette set up in our basement with a sink, counter tops, tables, cabinets and just didn't have a refrigerator or stove. So I brought my propane camp stove to the basement and used it to bring my pressure cooker up to pressure. It worked great and kept the heat out of the kitchen. Ive even done this outside in my back yard on the picnic table. Just find a spot where the wind wont be a problem with the flame.
